David MorgassenDavid Morgasen began his career as a New York-based writer, contributing to Spy Magazine, among others. Shortly thereafter, he added a producer's hat, working on a series of short films for MTV's cult animation classic Liquid Television. After moving to Los Angeles, Dave trained with the famed Groundlings comedy troupe, which spawned such talents as Will Ferrell, Phil Hartman, and Kristen Wiig. While training there, he produced and directed many comedic live corporate shows and films featuring members of the troupe. That led to directing assignments at Fox and a regular gig on USA network's Up All Night.

Meanwhile, Dave started picking up writing assignments, starting with several network television specials, like ABC's American Comedy Awards. But his writing career really took off when he joined forces with "The King of all Media" Howard Stern to co-create the series Son of The Beach, a satire of the international smash hit Baywatch, for Fox's cable upstart, the FX Network. The show ran for three seasons and is still seen around the world. His successes in television led to the sale of a feature script Henry Bates & The Sorcerer's Balls to MGM.

Having established himself as a successful writer, director, and producer, Dave was approached by HBO Digital to become an in-house Executive Producer of web-based content. Once there, his first order of business was to recruit members of the Groundlings' then-current cast to shoot videos based on their work onstage. The first to be produced was a parody called David Blaine Street Magic 2, which Dave also directed because their director wasn't available. The piece very quickly became an internet phenomenon, having generated well over 35 million views to date. It has also landed a spot on YouTube's list of top twenty scripted comedy videos of all time. He followed it up with a string of other successful viral videos, including a "Blaine" sequel and Exeter International, a fake infomercial for a rehab facility dedicated to helping gay people become straight. It was so wellreceived, it was featured in the Outfest Film Festival, sponsored by HBO and the DGA. In addition to the viral videos, Dave also worked with branded content, having created and launched a 45-part online series for Holiday Inn Express. During his time at HBO Digital, Dave found that the modest budgets necessitated innovation, which helped him find his own style. In the process, he also inadvertently restarted his directing career.

Shortly thereafter, Dave's ubiquitous viral videos attracted the attention of Jimmy Kimmel, who called and asked him to come aboard and direct some short pieces for the show. During his tenure at Jimmy Kimmel Live, Dave took his videos to the next level, putting him at the helm of such memorable bits as Briefcase Joe, starring Eminem, and Sabertooth Tiger Town, with Cloris Leachman and Shirley Jones.

Dave is has expanded into shooting spots for both TV and branded online conent.
